Activity 9 - Proposals for CSG water use in the QMBD (Assessing the impact on aquatic ecosystems)

Activity 9 of the Healthy HeadWaters Coal Seam Gas Water Feasibility Study will investigate the potential impacts of proposals for CSG water use on aquatic ecosystems in the QMDB. Specifically, it will develop a framework for assessing cumulative impacts of multiple CSG water discharge proposals in catchments of the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin.

This activity will build on the findings of Activity 4, which has developed a decision support system for assessing CSG water discharge proposals on a site-specific basis.

Activity 9 has commenced and is due to finish in December 2012.
