Community and landholder information

Today coal seam gas is the major domestic gas fuel source in Queensland providing about 90 per cent of the State’s domestic gas supply.

With the coal seam gas industry developing into a substantial liquefied natural gas export industry there has been increased community and landholder interest in the management of this expanding industry.

The Department of Environmental Resource Management is committed to delivering relevant, accurate and current information to the community relating to the CSG/LNG industry.

This site provides information on the coal seam gas and LNG industry. It includes the facts about fraccing, the stringent controls that coal seam gas operators must meet and the safeguards that have been put in place to protect landholders and the environment.
