Queens Plaza’s Richard De Haast receiving their ecoBiz Partner certificate from former Minister McNamara
QueensPlaza is a prestigious shopping centre located in the Queen Street Mall in the Brisbane CBD. As the centre places an emphasis on accessibility, with large prominent open entryways, their air conditioning systems were working overtime, and electricity use was skyrocketing. To prevent hot and cool air movement across the entryways powerful air curtains were installed that reduced the loss of cooled air out of the entries and exits. Energy consumption was further reduced through new energy-efficient lighting in public areas, and a water recycling system was installed to service the cooling towers with recycled water.
