Holiday Inn Cairns' Don Wands receiving their ecoBiz Partner certificate from Minister Darling
Holiday Inn Cairns is a hotel located on the Esplanade in Cairns with 237 rooms, function facilities and a restaurant. Holiday Inn Cairns continued to build on their already established eco-efficiency project (PDF, 193K)* with ecoBiz. They installed temperature controllers in guest rooms to reduce air conditioning in vacant rooms, replaced gas fire hot water systems with heat pump hot water systems, retro-fitted lights throughout the hotel with CFLs and LEDs, installed water saving devices, and improved waste and recycling separation in guest rooms.

- Greenhouse Gas 1% (9 cars or 37.4 t CO2-e)
- Potable water 5% (2,078 kL)
