Botanical Food Company T/A Gourmet Gardens produce fresh herb and spice paste products at Palmwoods, near Nambour. With the assistance of an ecoBiz rebate, Gourmet Gardens installed a carbon dioxide over ammonia cascade refrigeration plant, which significantly reduced the amount of energy required to refrigerate their products. They also began capturing rain water to clean their facilities and installed a water efficient herb washer. To reduce the amount of waste going to landfill Gourmet Garden began reusing the outer packaging cartons from their suppliers for approximately 50% of their sales.
