Churchill Abattoir Management Pty Ltd operates a beef slaughterhouse and rendering plant at Churchill, near Ipswich. Churchill Abattoir constructed anaerobic treatment ponds to process their wastewater whilst collecting methane for energy production. The abattoir also installed a bio-digester and biogas recovery system to improve biological wastewater treatment.
