ecoBiz Partner Biography
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks Glen Rethamel and Matthew Curtis receiving their ecoBiz Partner certificate from Minister Darling
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks is a family owned business brewing non-alcoholic beverages. In order to reduce their environmental impact and cost of operations, Bundaberg Brewed Drinks undertook eco-efficiency projects that incorporated changes from all parts of their business, from materials to waste. The move to a new bottle type reduced the amount of glass required and improved the strength of the bottles, resulting in less waste. They also painted the roof with a reflective paint and improved air circulation within the factory, resulting in a reduction of internal temperature and less reliance on electric fans, and recycling waste steam to heat their boilers. They also installed low-pressure hoses and new washout procedures to reduce water wastage.
