ecoBiz Partner Biography
BNIT staff receiving their ecoBiz Partner certificates from Minister Darling.
Brisbane North Institute of TAFE undertook a range of sustainability measures across four of their campuses, located at Bracken Ridge, Caboolture, Grovely and Redcliffe as well as their administration building at South Brisbane. The process began with a working group dedicated to improving eco-efficiency. A range of measures were undertaken, including energy efficient lighting, the purchase of fuel economical vehicles and efficient use of cooling systems. To reduce potable water usage, a water storage system capable of holding more than 200kL was installed across the campuses, and toilets and faucets were retrofitted to be more water-efficient. To reduce materials and waste, double-sided printing was introduced as standard, and green waste was mulched.
