The department manages more than 11 million hectares of state land across Queensland from national parks to marine parks, many in remote locations. Rangers can't be everywhere all the time so we rely on the eyes and ears of our tour operators to help identify when things go wrong or issues arise.
What incidents should I report?
You should report any activity you see that you think shouldn't be occurring in the park. This could include things like someone damaging park facilities, feeding wildlife, littering, fishing in marine national park zones (green) or a tour operator accessing restricted sites or operating without a permit.
If you witness a breach of our protected area legislation we recommend you collect as much information as possible but do not approach the person/s or request any information from them. Photographs of vehicles, vessels or someone committing an offence may help our investigations and be used as evidence should it go to court.
