Accreditation programs

Ecotourism and nature tourism certification provide industry, protected area managers, local communities and travellers with an assurance that a certified product is backed by a commitment to best-practice ecological sustainability, natural area management and the provision of quality ecotourism and nature based experiences.

The department is committed to building a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership with the tourism industry and will be releasing a suite of incentives to accredited operators shortly.

External course providers

A number of government agencies and private organisations provide opportunities to undertake training and accreditation programs designed for commercial tour companies and their staff. To find out more, click on the links.

Note: These accreditation programs are not a mandatory requirement for the department tour operator permit holders and it is advised to check the course outline to see if these courses are beneficial to your company.
