Search Environmental Management Register/Contaminated Land Register (EMR/CLR)

General information

To do a search, you will need to provide the following details:

You can lodge searches in person at the department's Customer Referral Centre, Level 3, 400 George Street, Brisbane. The result will be available for collection within five (5) working days. Alternatively, you can mail a search request to the department and the result will be mailed back within ten (10) working days.

CITEC Confirm Express Service * by phone/facsimile/e-mail service. Phone CITEC CONFIRM on 1300 36 11 15 or e-mail confirm_express@citec.com.au between 8am - 6pm (* the search fee is $38.80 plus an extra service fee up to 31 July 2011 and $40.15 plus an extra service fee from 1 August 2011) for the express service.

Guidelines and policies

The EP Act requires the owner of the land recorded on the Registers to inform any occupier, such as persons who are renting, managing, or leasing the land, if the property is:

Anyone selling or otherwise disposing of land listed on either Register is also required to give written notice of the land's listing to any potential purchaser.

Schedule 10 of the Environmental Protection Regulation 2008 lists the fees associated with Contaminated Land payable in Australian dollars.
