Building ponded pastures
General information
A ponded pasture is a permanent or periodic pondage of water in which the dominant plant species are pasture species used for grazing or harvesting. The establishment of new ponded pastures often results in adverse impacts on coastal resources and their values because they restrict the flow and influence of tidal water. Thus, the need for any ponded pasture, as well as the extent and nature of any potential adverse impacts of this activity on coastal processes/resources and their values, have to be examined carefully. The relevant information materials on this issue are listed below for quick referencing.
