Draft Queensland Coastal Plan—make a submission

Online submissions

Closing date for submissions is 5pm, 30 November 2009.

The most accurate, efficient and environmentally friendly way of commenting on the draft Queensland Coastal Plan is to use the online submission form. This has been designed to enable you to quickly select the most appropriate responses to issues, and also provide more detailed comments if you wish.

Anyone can make a submission on the draft plan, either as an individual or on behalf of an organisation. Before doing so, please read:

It would also be beneficial to familiarise yourself with the Queensland Government Planning Reform, so you can understand the full context of the State Planning Policy component.

To obtain a copy of a Mapping DVD showing finer scale detail of the entire coastline, email Coastal Support (please include your postal address).

In providing constructive feedback on the draft coastal plan, we strongly encourage you to provide suggestions on how identified issues could be addressed.

Using the online form

Due to the length and complexity of issues covered in the draft coastal plan, the submission form is in six parts. You do not have to complete all parts to make a valid submission. The few questions for which replies are mandatory are marked with an asterisk *.

You will need to fill in the submission at one sitting as you cannot save a partially completed form. We therefore recommend that if you want to provide detailed responses, you prepare them beforehand and cut and paste them into the respective question fields. Ensure that you fill in all mandatory fields.

When your submission is complete, click the ‘submit’ button, once only

You will be notified if your submission has been lodged successfully.

What happens to your information

Data obtained from your submission will be stored and later collated and analysed along with that from all other submissions. DERM will use the results of the analysis to prepare a final Queensland Coastal Plan.

DERM may disclose information you have provided in your submission (except for your personal details) to other government departments. Summaries or extracts of your submission (again excluding your personal details) may also be published in documents available to the general public.

Unless you have asked to be kept informed about the draft plan, we will not add your name, postal, or email address to a mailing list—nor will we disclose these details to third parties (other than government departments responsible for policy development in relation to the consultation) without your consent, unless required by law.
