Data Quality

Lineage:

Data originally converted from the Valuer General’s Valuation and Sales System. Data is maintained through advice of sales, subdivisions, Government Gazettes, valuation inspections, and advice from Councils.

Positional Accuracy:

QVAS is a textual database, therefore, there is no explicit information relating to spatial position. However, by linking the Lot and Plan attribute values from QVAS to the Lot and Plan values from the Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB), a spatial position of QVAS data can be derived. The positional accuracy achieved by this process is equivalent to that of the DCDB.

Attribute Accuracy:

The database incorporates information obtained from sources outside the Department. While every effort is made to verify the accuracy of this information, the Department is unable to guarantee this information.

Logical Consistency:

Data is referenced to an individual valuing property record. This can be referenced to a Lot and Plan description which can be represented as a polygon using the Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB).

Completeness:

QVAS is designed to hold records on all parcels of land, however it will not hold an unimproved value for any property that is considered to be non-rateable.
