Who we are looking for
Urban growth, long droughts, increased industry and demand for water are putting pressure on Queensland’s environment, natural resources and water. We need talented graduates with the enthusiasm, motivation and qualifications to help us drive sustainable environment and resource management.
DERM aims to recruit graduates with a diverse range of skills and qualifications. Disciplines include, but are not limited to:
- computing or information technology
- economics/resource economics
- engineering (civil, environmental, agricultural)
- environmental science, management and planning
- geographic/spatial science
- parks and wildlife management
- land and natural resource management
- law
- public policy
- science (agricultural, applied, rural, soil, marine, water)
- climatology.

Eligiblity
To be eligible to apply for our graduate positions you must be:
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or have achieved this status by the start of the graduate program in February 2011
- a New Zealand citizen who has a special category visa or can be granted one by the start of the graduate program in February 2011
- completing your undergraduate degree this year, or have completed it since July 2009.
If you hold overseas qualifications, they will need to be assessed.

Recruitment and selection
- Applications received by the closing date are distributed to the recruiting business areas for shortlisting
- Recruiting business areas conduct interviews with shortlisted applicants
- Offers of appointment are sent to successful candidates
- Feedback is offered to shortlisted candidates.
